Class Descriptions
(Note: All classes may not be offered depending on popularity and class participation.)
Cardio Kickboxing - Mondays at 6 PM AND Saturdays at 8:15 AM
This high-energy workout combines boxing and martial arts to give you a total body workout that hits your lower body like no other machine ever has! Abs included!
Zumba - Wednesdays at 6 PM AND Mondays at 7:10 PM
Ditch the workout and join the party -- an exciting cardiovascular class designed to increase your heart rate and burn calories while moving to an energizing Latin sound. Slide, shuffle and spin with footwork and body movements from the flamenco, salsa, merengue, samba and more. Get in and ZUMBA!
Step, Strength, & Stretch
This class includes 30 minutes of step, 20 minutes of toning, and 10 minutes of a relaxing stretch.

Boot Camp - Tuesdays 5:30 PM
High energy, intense cardio training guaranteed to boost your energy & metabolism! Plyometrics, BoSU, jump rope, medicine balls, running drills, push-ups and more! Drop and give it your all!
Group Cycling Classes – Non-impact, cardiovascular classes!
Group Cycling is a great non-impact, cardiovascular class guaranteed to burn calories. Work within many cardiovascular training zones to get the results you want. Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes prior to class time to set up your bike for class. New riders are encouraged to arrive early to introduce themselves to the instructor and get properly fitted to the bike. Burn calories in a high-energy group atmosphere to great music with a motivating instructor! Group Cycling is non-competitive and is appropriate for all fitness levels! Bike shorts are recommended; water is required! Join us on Thursdays from 6-7 PM and Saturdays from 8:30-9:30 AM.

Join the most effective strength training class to tighten and tone your body in 60 minutes! Exercises for your legs, chest, back, glutes, biceps, shoulders and triceps (sleeveless shirt muscles - think Spring people!) and abs are performed with a barbell or your own body weights. Once you master the current program, you will begin learning a new one to keep you challenged and your body pumping! For best results, we recommend you attend this class more than once a week. All levels are welcome.

Each class begins with a tai chi warm-up, followed by a traditional Yoga sun salutation to continue to prepare the body for work. Holding standing poses for a period of time for strength is followed by balance poses to improve balance and help prevent future falls. Hip exercises open up the hip area and help ease low-back pain. Pilates exercises for abdominals and back are incorporated to build a strong core. Forward bends stretch and lengthen tight hamstrings. Class concludes with 10 minutes of quiet meditation. Participants often find this part of class to be the most beneficial since many of us do not take time out of our very busy and stressfull lives to quiet our minds and bodies and relax.
Aquatic Fitness Classes
Classes are for men and women of all ages. This low-impact exercise program uses water as resistance to displace 90 per cent of your body weight, and, unlike land aerobics, eliminating stress on the joints. This class helps you develop increased flexibility, cardiovascular fitness, and muscle tone in a most refreshing way. No need to register. Just present an Aquatics punch card.
Aqua Light
A great class for those looking for a lighter workout in the water, or those new to water fitness. This class includes light cardio and strength exercises to reduce joint pain and stiffness, increase flexibility, range of motion, and more!
AquaFit
A water fitness class for those looking for a cardiovascular and strength workout for weight management with limited impact on your joints.

Senior Strength, Stability, and Stretch
Join your friends and get your heart going, strengthen your muscles, work on improving your balance, and finish with a nice relaxing stretch. All this in one hour!
Group Fitness Class Pass
The Group Fitness Class Pass allows you to participate in any of our group fitness classes and select aquatic classes. You do not need to register for any of these classes specifically and you may attend any or all of the classes. Visit the Guest Service Desk at the CRC today to purchase the Class Pass that works best for your fitness needs and join us in a class today! Class Passes are valid for one year from the date of purchase. No refunds will be granted for unused portions. Class Passes are non-transferable and may only be used by the individual whose photo appears on the card. Wheeling Park District reserves the right to cancel classes due to low participation.
