Wheeling Park District Preschool
The Wheeling Park District is guided by the philosophy of “learning through play”. Through activities in art, games, storytelling, cooking, movement, and songs, children develop self-control, physical coordination, and social skills. Children are exposed to letters, numbers, colors, shapes, and readiness skills in an encouraging, nurturing setting. The Wheeling Park District Preschool provides a secure and supportive environment for developing a love for school. A detailed Preschool Guidebook is available upon registration.
The Wheeling Park District Preschool staff are qualified, experienced teachers who pride themselves on creating a warm, sensitive, safe, and educational environment. A ratio of one experienced teacher for every eight children is maintained.
Two to Three - Just Like Me (children who turn three between September 2 and December 31, 2012) If your child has a late birthday, get a head start on Preschool with our new component. Teachers have developed a program to encourage the transition from home to school that includes an introduction to group activities, following directions, and social skills. All of this serves to support the "learning through play" philosophy.
