Wheeling Park District Adult Athletics Among the most solid and consistent leagues offered by the Wheeling Park District are Adult Leagues in co-rec volleyball and softball, as well as men’s flag football and softball. Professional, “patched” umpires or referees officiate each game. Cash prizes are awarded to first-place finishers in each league, while second-place teams receive gift certificates good toward enrollment fees for the next competition season. The Park District’s state-of-the-art facilities are professionally maintained to ensure the highest quality competition environment. Adult Athletic League Registration Information Completed rosters (including names, addresses, and phone numbers) and non-refundable registration fee (20% of league fee) are due upon registration, prior to the printed deadline. Signatures are due by the start of the first scheduled game. Balance of fee is due by the forth game. No teams are added after each league reaches max. Three levels of competition are available. The eight-match regular season is followed by a single elimination tournament. Cash and other prizes are awarded to the top teams. All games are officiated and begin at 6:15 PM. Both seasons are held indoors.
Summer Adult Softball Leagues Pick your favorite format -- Co-rec, Men’s 12”, or Men’s 16”. All are offered in a 10-game regular season followed by a single-elimination tournament. Games begin in early May at Heritage Park and Horizon Park. Cash prizes are awarded to first place in the league and tournament.
Adult Volleyball Skills and Drills These clinics help all players enhance their skills and improve allaround play on the court. The clinics are good for all league players as well as weekend warriors who want to learn the game in a different way. The first session focuses on setting and bumping. The second session emphasizes spiking. Sign up for each clinic separately or for both. All sessions are one hour in length.
