Wheeling Park District Parks

Wheeling Park District maintains 10 parks and 16 sites totaling 270 acres. These open spaces provide recreation and leisure opportunities for thousands of people each year. In addition, many of the park buildings have historical significance to the community and serve as traditional destinations for many families.

Chamber Park on Wolf Road is home to the second oldest church in Wheeling, the original Wheeling police station, and the Wheeling Historical Society. Many children look forward to Lollipop Lane at the park in December.

The oldest church in Wheeling is now the Loraine E. Lark Chapel at Childerley Park on Old McHenry Road, and is still used for non-denominational wedding services.

Meadowbrook Tot Lot on Nancy Lane has the distinction of being the first park in Wheeling.

Denoyer Park on Waverly Lane once served as a local campsite for Girl Scouts.

Heritage Park covers 83 acres making it the largest park in Wheeling.

Husky Park features a wetland nature center.

Originally known as the Columbian Country Club when it opened in 1927, the beautiful Tudor-style structure that is now Chevy Chase Country Club was purchased by the Park District in 1977.
