The Mission of the Wheeling Park District is to provide memorable experiences in parks and recreation that enrich our communities.

The Wheeling Park District has been providing memorable experiences in parks and recreation for the community since its inception in 1960. The district maintains 270 acres of community parks, playgrounds, and facilities for your enjoyment. These include year-round aquatics at the indoor Arctic Splash and the outdoor Aquatic Center, the historic Chevy Chase Country Club, Traditions at Chevy Chase Golf Course, Chamber Park Church and Museum, and the state-of-the-art Fitness Center.

What's New at the Wheeling Park District

Malibu Park Redevelopment - PROJECT UPDATE!
Starting Monday, April 28, construction for the redevelopment of Malibu Park will begin. The project includes the removal of existing playground equipment and surfacing, installatioin of the new playground, safety surfacing, new walkways, a limestone seatwall, and an ADA-accessible drinking fountain.

Phase I of the project is expected to be completed by June 1, 2008.

Park District Achieves Distinguished Agency Status
The Wheeling Park District has been recognized as and Illinois Association of Park Districts (IAPD) and Illinois Parks and Recreation Association (IPRA) Distinguished Agency. This recognition is the result of the Park District's continuing effort to provide park and recreation opportunities for the residents of the community that are of the highest level of quality.
