Chamber Park

Chamber Park is located between Strong and Dundee Roads at 213 N. Wolf Rd. The property consists of 6.3 acres and is home to the Chamber Church, Carriage House, and the Wheeling Historical Society Museum. The church is said to be the second oldest church in Wheeling and as recently as the 1970s held services on Sundays. The Carriage House was moved to the park in the 1980s and the Museum was moved from Milwaukee Avenue, where it served as the original Wheeling police station.

In the 1970s, the park had an outdoor and “kiddie” pool, shuffleboard courts, a large fountain, and an ice skating rink. Today, Chamber Park boasts play equipment, picnic tables, sheltered gazebo, dedicated flower garden area, looped pathway, basketball hoops for informal play, and six pickleball courts. The park also hosts Santa and Mrs. Claus when they come to town every December for Lollipop Lane

Chamber Park Renovation Project

In accordance with the Wheeling Park District’s Neighborhood Park Improvement Plan, we are excited to begin the renovation of Chamber Park.  As with the previous neighborhood park renovation projects, the Park District reached out to the community and Wheeling Historical Society during the planning and design process.  The renovation will complement the historical significance of the existing facilities at Chamber Park.  Throughout the course of the improvement project, please click on the button below see pictures and updates of the progress.  We look forward to sharing each milestone reached in the development of this important community resource.
