Chevy Chase Country Club
The Wheeling Park District completed the exterior renovation of Chevy Chase Country Club, preserving the historical and architectural significance of this cherished community asset. Key improvements included removing the deteriorated caddy shack, replacing exterior cladding and roofing to prevent water infiltration and improve thermal performance, and using modern building materials to create a uniform appearance that honors the building’s original Tudor style. Located at 1000 N. Milwaukee in Wheeling, IL, Chevy Chase Country Club now stands renewed for future generations.
Accessible Greenhouse
The Wheeling Park District, in partnership with the Northwest Special Recreation Association (NWSRA), completed construction of an Accessible Greenhouse adjacent to the NWSRA Programming Space at the Wheeling Park District Community Center. Designed to offer hands-on learning opportunities for individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities, this innovative greenhouse will host programs in gardening, hydroponics, and sustainable practices. This project was made possible through funding from SLSF, whose mission is to support children and adults with disabilities by providing philanthropic support to NWSRA.
North CRC Parking Lot
The Wheeling Park District completed the new parking lot expansion on the north side of the Community Recreation Center, officially opening it to the public. This addition, providing over 30 new parking spaces, was undertaken to meet the increasing demand for parking and improve access for visitors to the Health and Fitness Center and Gym 2.
