Youth Winter Basketball
Designed to promote sportsmanship and teamwork, all levels focus on understanding and enjoying the game. 1st/2nd grade emphasizes fundamentals and skill development over competition. Smaller balls and lower rims are used to promote success and learning. 3rd/4th and 5th/6th grades use regulation hoop height. All levels play a 10 game-schedule. There is no season-ending tournament for any division. Leagues may combine with neighboring Park District’s to increase the number of teams. A Wheeling Park District Jersey is required to play in this league.
