Tier 3 Mitigation Update

Effective Friday, November 20, Wheeling Park District will institute several modifications and changes to park and recreation programs, events and activities in accordance with State of Illinois’ Tier 3 Resurgence Mitigation plan. Below are updates on program offerings, facilities and rentals.

Community Recreation Center
The Community Recreation Center will be closed to the public until further notice. This includes the walking track, gymnasiums and programming rooms (including room rentals). Only Distance Learning Care students and Health & Fitness Center members with advanced reservations will be permitted in the building.

Health & Fitness Center
The Health & Fitness Center is open and operating at no more than 25% capacity. Access to the fitness floor for cardio equipment, free weights and personal training is available through advanced reservations . Indoor group exercise classes are suspended and access to the locker room areas are closed to the public until further notice. Face coverings must be worn at all times.

Golf
Traditions at Chevy Chase and Rob Roy Golf Course are open daily for play. Tee times can be booked online at www.chevychasecountryclub.com or www.robroygc.com. Additional guidelines are posted on each facility website along with what other services are available at each course.

Indoor Pool
The Indoor Pool is open for Lap Swim by reservation only, Group and Private Swim Lessons and Aquatic Group Exercise Classes are postponed until further notice.

Heritage Park Sports Complex
The Heritage Park Sports Complex is open for youth and adult sports. Participant groups and practices are limited to 10 persons or less with social distancing. Face coverings are required for all activities at all times.

Parks, Open Space and Playgrounds
All parks, walking trails, and open space remain open. Please use caution when using playground equipment and adhere to the following guidelines:

  • DO NOT USE the playground if you are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms.
  • Wear a face covering and maintain 6 feet of distance between you and others.
  • Playgrounds are not cleaned regularly. Please follow CDC and IDPH hygiene recommendations.
